New multi-room nightclub to open in Birmingham, Club Colette
From the team behind Mama Roux’s, the venue takes the place of a former chicken shop
A brand new nightclub is set to open in Birmingham this month from the team behind Mama Roux’s, Club Colette.
The club takes the place of an “abandoned” fried chicken shop on Lower Trinity Street in Digbeth, located next door to its sister venue, with a promise to bring “something different” to the area’s club scene.
Club Colette will go “back to basics” with a minimal, intimate setup, with a focus on sound quality and music culture. The venue boasts two rooms, the first a tiered dancefloor with elevated spots for dancers, and the second featuring a 360-degree DJ booth setup.

Club co-founder Benjy Hill explains: “Room 2 is the smallest in the city - something we're proud of - in a converted, abandoned fried chicken shop.”
“The two rooms are linked by a terrace under the iconic Victorian viaducts with plans for summer day parties from local and international brands.”
The venue opens for a “sneak preview” this week, December 14, with a daytime party featuring Kepler and Francesco Maddalena as headliners, and new club residents including Lopaski, Mizo, Mark Birch, Alexander M, HP3, Ning-Ning Li, and Jon Morris. The opening party features guest brand and famed Italian nightclub After Caposile.
From there, Club Colette will bring “hand-picked” international guests through its doors from March 1, 2025, every Saturday night. Meanwhile, Room 2 – otherwise known as The Chicken Shop – aims to support local talent.

“In an era where venues and events seem to be growing bigger and bigger (and there's of course a place for this), we're focusing on getting the little details right and bringing the artists headlining these mega venues back directly in front of the types of crowds that helped them learn their craft with support from our residents,” says Benjy.
"It was always our long term ambition to get our hands on all five railway arches at the foot of Lower Trinity Street, and with the re-introduction of food in 2025, we are proud to be creating a real exciting cultural destination, there really is now something for everyone".
