Premiere: Mr G's latest is another rugged slice of house
Another album, another stroke of brilliance
A Mr G set isn't your usual, run-of-the-mill clubbing experience.
His electrifying dance moves are the perfect, feverish accompaniment to his dancefloor-focused house and techno jams and if you're not leaving the set as sweaty as he is, you're doing something wrong.
Having been a staple of the scene for over 15 years, Colin McBean is the king of the groove. His style is influenced by funk, soul, reggae, jazz, house, techno and anything that has inspired and educated the master over the years.
In 2013 we were suitably gobsmacked when his 'Retrospective' landed on Rekids, just the sheer wealth and volume of amazing tracks he's made over the years was enough to have us bowing down to the ultimate G.
Last September he released the 'Night On The Town' LP via his own Phoenix G album and it came loaded with a beautiful mix of styles and tempos and just over a year later he returns with 'A Good Place...?'.
Ten tracks of G magic follow and we've got the first play of one of our favourite cuts.
'That Late Night Thought?' features rugged basslines that charge and rush through the runtime while demonic vocals echo in the background. It's more essential Mr G listening and testament to his outstanding legacy. Long may his reign continue.
'A Good Place...?' will be released on November 8
