Mike Skinner cancels The Streets 2022 tour due to COVID uncertainty

Mike Skinner announced yesterday via Instagram that The Streets have cancelled all gigs in 2022.
After returning to the stage over the summer and the release of the single ‘Who’s Got The Bag’ The Streets have confirmed that their tour will no longer continue in 2022 following “the worst week of the worst year” of his life.
Skinner also mentioned that he doesn’t see it as “fair” to sell tickets to fans when the COVID is still causing so much uncertainty.

In his statement on Instagram, he said: “It is with a very heavy heart that I have to say that we have decided to cancel all live performances for 2022.
“It is not fair to keep taking your money for tickets knowing that with 1 case of covid, the whole thing has to stop.
“I’m really sorry to disappoint you.
“This has been the worst week of the worst year of my life.”
The statement was posted alongside an image of the iconic lighter logo representing a lighthouse.

Fans are commenting their support saying: “Dry my eyes mate - gutted, but it's the sensible decision” and “Oh Mike…. You’re a decent man. Can’t wait til you can perform again”.
