Matthias Meyer releases EP ‘The Choir’
It follows on from ‘Sweet Ease’ / ‘Hybrid Society’
Berlin-based Matthias Meyer has released his second body of work on personal imprint, Strangely Enough.
The two tracker, entitled ‘The Choir’, dropped yesterday and has garnered support from the likes of Sasha, Anja Schneider and Black Coffee.
Opening tune ‘The Choir’ centres on a euphoric and choir refrain which pulses throughout the seven minutes.

There are tougher beats surrounding this to drive the hypnotic sound.
The second tune, ‘Touch Of Magic’, incorporates 80s inspired synths and uptempo beats. There’s a stabbing percussion with lively chords, too.
On the release, Meyer tells Mixmag: "This EP really means a lot to me. 'The Choir' is based on a church choir recording. The very first version is already a few years old, but I never really managed to get it how I wanted. Now, I have finally turned it into something special. Every time I play this record, the vibe in the club gets very very intimate. Always such a special moment."
"'Touch of Magic' is dedicated to a very special person in my life. It’s a very '80s inspired uplifting journey. I love how it flows."

‘The Choir’ follows Meyer’s collaboration with Budakid on Watergate Records, ‘Sweet Ease’ / ‘Hybrid Society’.
