Lil Uzi Vert accidentally injured fan after throwing phone into Wireless crowd

Lil Uzi Vert reportedly left a fan needing medical attention after throwing another fan’s phone back into the crowd from the stage at his Wireless festival show.

Uzi Vert played at Wireless in Crystal Palace on July 1, and videos from different angles started circulating on TikTok of the rapper launching the phone whilst performing his 2016 track ‘Money Longer’.

The phone then reportedly struck an unidentified fan, who was left with a bloody gash on her head that needed to be closed with skin glue.

User Drilla G posted a video on TikTok of her being taken out of the crowd by festival staff. Tiktok user ccornonmycob then posted a video claiming to be the fan, saying: “I am sadly that chick that got her head smashed in by the phone.”

“The guy got his phone back and everything is being dealt with. For those who are asking why I didn’t move out of the way, if you have been to Wireless Festival before you know how packed the crowd is.

“There is no space to move and even if there was, I think the reaction time with the phone landing wouldn’t have been enough to actually move out of the way in time. And even if I did, it would have hit someone either way, it wouldn’t have hit the floor first.”

As she explained, she said that someone else in the crowd was also hit by the falling phone, but she did not want to name them.

A source close to the situation told XXL: “During Uzi’s set at Wireless Fest, fans threw multiple cellphones onto the stage and inadvertently struck him. He merely attempted to clear the phones from the stage, avoid slipping and safely continue his performance – he never intentionally directed it at a specific individual.”

Wireless weekend 1 took place in Crystal Palace last weekend. It continues this weekend at Finsbury Park and in Birmingham.
