L.I.E.S. Records in The Lab NYC: Marcos Cabral and Shawn O’Sullivan

The Lab NYC is Mixmag and Smirnoff Sound Collective's weekly afterwork party where we stream the best American and international DJs from the intimate space connected to our Brooklyn office. This Friday, Mixmag welcomes Marcos Cabral and Shawn O’Sullivan for a special L.I.E.S. Records showcase.

L.I.E.S. Records, founded by Ron Morelli seven years ago in Brooklyn, has built a strict reputation for pushing the boundaries of leftfield, forward thinking music. The underground outlet has worked with artists like Adam-X, Silent Servant, Person Of Interest and Randomer, as well as a host of budding talent throughout it's existence.

Label mainstay Marcos Cabral first appeared on the imprint in 2011. Since then the underground techno head has released a number of productions on L.I.E.S. including two full length albums ‘False Memories’ and ‘Buried Alive Twice’.

Shawn O’Sullivan, who also goes by aliases Vapauteen and 400PPM, is a New York based artist who debuted on L.I.E.S. with his ‘Weld’ EP in 2012. His most recent contributions were label compilations ‘This Coercion Pt 1’ and ‘This Coercion Pt.2’, a collection of dark, elemental techno material.

Friday’s L.I.E.S. showcase will be presented in conjunction with Mixmag’s Label Of The Decade Poll. Vote here
