Watch Kevin Saunderson spin a Detroit Pistons halftime show
House music at halftime
Yesterday, electronic music legend Kevin Saunderson was tapped by his home city's basketball team, the Detroit Pistons, to throw down a small dance music demonstration during the halftime show in their game against the Toronto Raptors.
Setting up on the floor of the Little Ceasers Arena, Kevin Saunderson launched into a five-minute set that started off with the universal jock jam by Queen 'We Will Rock You' before launching into classic house tracks such as Inner City's 'Big Fun' and 'Sweet Dreams' by Eurythmics.
An avid Detroit Pistons supporter, Saunderson sent out a tweet during his soundcheck that he is looking forward to playing "a different type of set" for his beloved team and its fans.
This isn't the first time an all-star DJ has been tapped to perform during a Piston's halftime show. Back in October, Dirtybird leader Claude VonStroke was tapped to perform at center court. Check out the video here.
