John Digweed shares update with fans following health scare

British DJ and producer John Digweed has shared an update on his health after he was admitted to a Los Angeles hospital in late September.

In an Instagram post shared yesterday, October 3, Digweed confirmed that he’s now off an IV drip, thanking hospital staff and those who wished him well.

“No more IV’s,” he said in the post. “I would like to thank all the doctors and nurses who have taken amazing care of me over the last 10 days.”

He continued: “They have been truly amazing especially when so far from home. Thanks for all the kind words and support. It really helped me get through my time in hospital.”

On September 23, Digweed was hospitalised after falling ill. The cause of his hospitalisation was not confirmed, however his management explained that he would not be able to perform at three scheduled shows.

In a statement posted on Instagram, his management said: “John is very ill and in the hospital. Due to his present condition, he will sadly not be able to attend any of his concerts this weekend including Guadalajara, and with Sasha in Mexico City and Dallas.”

Digweed was due to perform at Guadalajara venue Bar Americas on September 26, with two other scheduled shows in Dallas and Mexico City alongside Sasha also cancelled.

Cookie Presenta, the promoter hosting his show in Mexico City, told fans that the event would continue with a solo performance from Sasha.

“[Digweed's] health condition is very delicate and uncertain at the moment,” Cookie Presenta said (via EDM Tunes). “John gradually became ill and he thought what he had was something temporary.”
