Gorillaz artbook announced with contributions from Jamie Hewlett, Robert Smith and more
The book showcases “new interpretations” of the band from more than 40 contributors
A Gorillaz artbook named The Gorillaz Art Book will be released in April 2022, featuring work from Jamie Hewlett, Robert Smith and more.
The book will celebrate 20 years since the release of their debut album ‘Gorillaz’.
Co-creator and artist Jamie Hewlett has teamed up with Z2 Comics to create the artbook.

With 288-pages it’s packed with art from the likes of, Jack Black, Slaves’ Laurie Vincent, The Powerpuff Girls creator Craig McCracken, Clone High art director Tara Billinger, Adventure Time artist Erik Fountain, Buffy the Vampire Slayer cartoonist Marianna Ignazzi, Mad Max: Fury Road co-writer Brendan McCarthy, and music video director Ruffmercy.
Hewlett said in a statement: “Gorillaz have always collaborated with music, but this is the first time we’ve done an art collaboration,” and added: “I’ve really enjoyed working with so many of my favorite artists and the result is this amazing book.”

Gorillaz have recently shown in cinemas worldwide ‘Song Machine Live’ which was a one-night-only live performance stream from Hong Kong. As well as this, frontman, Damon Albarn spilled the news of a full-length documentary to be coming out on Netflix in the near future.
