A new video has surfaced of a 17-year-old Frank Ocean singing at his high school graduation in 2005.

The video, taken at Frank's former high school John Ehret High School in New Orleans, shows Frank Ocean - real name Christopher Breaux - get introduced by one of his fellow graduates before taking to the stage and singing his school's anthem.

The musician graduated from John Ehret High School in 2005, before briefly attending the University of New Orleans to study English. Hurricane Katrina cut his studies at the University of New Orleans short, and he then briefly attended the University of Louisiana at Lafayette but dropped out to pursue music.

Frank has previously said in interviews that he had always struggled with following authority figures in schools, and would get expelled regularly.

In an interview with W Magazine from 2019, Frank said: “I was expelled and suspended it felt like every five minutes, every school year until I became obsessed with figuring out how to make a career in music. And that interest fostered a different mentality.

"I think it was also around the transition to becoming a teenager, and I got really calm. My mom comments on that fairly often. I feel like I still had a lot of inner chaos, but I didn’t express it the same way. So that probably was noticeable.”

New Frank Ocean content is rare, as fans often spend long bursts of time trying to find new content. His last full-length project was 2016's 'Blonde' and 'Endless', and since then he has only released his Boys Don't Cry magazine, 'In My Room', 'Dear April', 'Cayendo', and a cover of 'Moon River'.

Last year on Christmas Day, he shared a snippet of a song on his Apple Music show Blonded Radio. The show's Christmas episode, branded 'blonded Xmas,' was the first in two years.

The programme, which premiered on Apple Music, included over 9 minutes of new music from Frank Ocean as well as a discussion between the artist and extreme athlete Wim Hof (AKA The Ice Man).
