Four Tet on dropping 'Country Riddim' at Coachella: "I absolutely lost my marbles"
In his first interview in eight years, Four Tet has revealed exactly what was going through his mind during his b3b headline slot with Skrillex and Fred again..
Four Tet has commented the now-viral moment he dropped 'Country Riddim', during his b3b headline slot with Skrillex and Fred again.., at Coachella in May.
The DJ and producer, whose real name is Keiran Hebden, told The Guardian, he had an "an out-of-body experience,” just before he mixed the track into 'Smells Like Teen Spirit'.
“Absolutely lost my marbles," he continues. It was like knowing I’ve got the funniest joke in the world and 100,000 people are about to lose their minds. It’s one of the most powerful feelings I’ve experienced in my whole life.”

During the interview, his first in eight years, Four Tet also divulged on his "bromance" with collaborators Skrillex and Fred again.. — sharing that his friendship with the former had began in 2015, when the pair played a b2b in Camden.
“[Skrillex] stopped everything and played the Lion King theme tune,” Four Tet recalls. “Since then, we look at each other like: ‘Nothing you could play would be too chaotic to mix out of. Try me.’”
The DJ and producer also discussed his family, including his daughter's reaction to the Taylor Swift edit he created "for her", and that his 73-year-old mum's favourite DJ is none other than Ben UFO: “She’s always like: ‘Ben crushed it.’”

Commenting on the years long legal battle with his former record label Domino, which resulted in Four Tet being awarded £57,000 in backdated royalties, he said: "It was a brutal thing to go through, but at the end it was kind of a career highlight.”
“I can imagine being in their shoes; it was a chaotic situation, I was really close friends with people at Domino and to fall out on that level was intense."
