Fatboy Slim played a recording of Greta Thunberg’s powerful UN speech over his club classic ‘Right Here, Right Now’ to thousands of people, during a DJ set in Gateshead on Friday October 4.
Thunberg’s fiery speech commenced during a breakdown period in the track, echoing and over the world-famous synths.

The words sampled from Greta are: “People are dying. Entire ecosystems are collapsing. We are in the beginning of a mass extinction. And all you can talk about is money. You are failing us, and the young people are starting to understand your betrayal. The eyes of all future generations are upon you.
“We will not let you get away with this. Right here, right now is where we draw the line. The world is waking up. And change is coming, whether you like it or not.”
As the track raised to its climax, “Right here, right now” from the speech was looped continuously over the original lyrics.

The mash-up was made by musician David Scott, who posted the track and an accompanying video on social media in late September.
Fatboy Slim shared Scott’s video on his own social, and has now incorporated it into his live show.
