Crystal Castles member Ethan Kath, born Claudio Palmieri, is now officially under investigation by the Toronto Police's Sex Crimes department.

Earlier this year, Alice Glass came forward with a detailed account of the many ways Kath abused her sexually, emotionally and physically throughout her time as part of the band as the singer of Crystal Castles. Following the account, dozens of Crystal Castles show were cancelled and Kath retaliated by suing Alice Glass for defamation, also serving her court summons.

The Daily Beast has confirmed with the Toronto Police Constable Allyson Douglas-Cook that Kath is now the subject of an open investigation. "At this point we are able to confirm that there is an investigation. However, because of the nature of the investigation, and for the privacy of the alleged victims, there isn’t anything else that we can say pertaining to it."

TDB further confirmed being in contact with at least one other woman who claims that Ethan Kath instigated a sexual relationship with her at only age 16. The unnamed woman claims that the two met when he was a rising star in the Toronto scene, and he "frequently plied her with drugs and alcohol before having sex, while always staying sober himself". Additionally, she claims he was violent with her and later on, their sexual relationship was "not always consensual".
