Essential: Matt Lange unleashes his menacing 'Escapist' EP
Three powerful tunes from the mau5trap star
Mau5trap favorite Matt Lange has been far from idle over the past few months, releasing a slew of remixes and consistently teasing out photos of him tinkering around in the studio. Today, we're receiving the fruits of his labor with the release of his newest EP, 'Escapist'.
The entire three-track work captures Lange's obvious ear for details and skillful production abilities with synth-heavy and a cinematic tones, capturing listeners from beginning 'til end with the build and swoons across all tunes.
'Escapist' is a rumbling tune that sets the mood for the similarly titled EP, helping to lead into the curiously titled second track 'Book Biter', (which Lange says was named after his cat) a staunch, yet cheeky techno driver. Finally, the EP rounds out with 'Count It', a bouncier production which fills the atmosphere with dark, warehouse-ready vibes.
