Doctor Jeep lands on Nerve Collect with 'Machine Learning' EP

Nerve Collect has welcomed Doctor Jeep - aka Andre Lira - to share his latest EP, 'Machine Learning'.

The record blends global rhythms with twisted, fine-tuned electronics, threading together a variety of genres to result in a dancefloor-focused, Lira-esque release.

Across its six tracks, 'Machine Learning' draws upon drum 'n' bass, techno, electro, and all inbetween. Shift from distorted kicks and whizzing synths to pulsating four-to-the-floor techno sounds, before a journey into mutations of grime and rave-infused dancehall.

"Job and Laurens (Identified Patient and Gamma Intel) hit me up sometime in January 2023 for tracks, which I was surprised by since I had been a huge fan of both of them as producers and DJs," Lira tells Mixmag.

"Initially I sent them a huge playlist of demos, and we aligned on a few, but for whatever reason this one week in March I had a huge creative burst seemingly out of nowhere and made 'Machine Learning', 'Mad T', and 'Shake the Club' all on successive days while I was at the office for my dayjob, which was pretty slow at the time (sorry boss!). Think I nailed down each track in about 2-3 hours!

"Once I sent those to the guys, we totally revised the tracklist and the rest is history. Was lucky enough to catch 'Machine Learning' and 'Mad T' played a ton over the summer which I'm really happy about (and helped immensely for the mixing process). Probably one of my favorite releases of my career!"
