DJ Nobu samples Tokyo pressing plant in new single 'Toyo Vinyl'
The music video explores the beauty of vinyl manufacturing
Japan's underground music ace DJ Nobu has released a new single titled 'Toyo Vinyl' which incorporates samples of machinery at the vinyl pressing plant Toyo Kasei in Tokyo.
Recording the samples himself, Nobu assembles the various sonics to create a magnetic industrial techno track that is dark, subtle and genuinely hypnotic.
Accompanied by an awe-inspiring music video which takes viewers through the vinyl pressing process, the single is the first release from the music and film collaboration project Industrial JP. The aim of the project is to focus on industrial facilities in Japan and allows viewers to "experience the sensation of the beautiful precision movements of the manufacturing process combined with music.”
