Daft Punk’s Thomas Bangalter spotted back in the studio — with Lil Nas X

New footage posted on social media has indicated Thomas Bangalter and Lil Nas X may be working on music together.

In an Instagram story posted on Lil Nas X’s account, the rapper is seen moving to music surrounded by instruments and recording equipment, and a man who looks very much like the former Daft Punk member walks past in the background holding a guitar.

It’s the first sighting of Bangalter in the studio since Daft Punk split up in February last year.

News of upcoming projects from Bangalter has followed since: in August 2021, he was confirmed to be scoring a new ballet titled Mythologies that will debut in 2022.

Let’s hope a Bangalter-produced banger from Lil Nas X is also on the way.
