Simulation Mix (Apothecary Compositions)
7/10
There's this big crack in 'club' music that's opening up and making it's way right down the middle of where full-on underground bangers and super out-there experiments sit. Out of it come artists like City, who make exploratory electronic music that you might be able to dance to, depending on whether you bump it on your headphones or go in search of a party (sic) that plays it. 'Simulation Mix' is billed as 'collage' and that goes someway to describe what the Canadian's done here, merging all manner of layers in a way similar to J. G. Biberkopf, Egyptrixx, Sentinel and Brood Ma do, all individuals mapping out terrain on the new digital music frontier.
