Skrillex drops surprise new album featuring 34 tracks

Skrillex has dropped a brand new album just a day after it was announced, ‘F*CK U SKRILLEX YOU THINK UR ANDY WARHOL BUT UR NOT!! <3’.

The surprise record, abbreviated to just ‘FUS’, marks his final release on Atlantic Records.

‘FUS’ features a huge 34 tracks, and includes collaborations with the likes of Dylan Brady, Boys Noize, Wuki, jamesjamesjames, and swedm®, as well as previous collaborators Varg2™ and Starrah, amongst many others.

The record landed today, April 1, via OWSLA/Atlantic Records, bringing an end to his work with the label after almost 15 years. During that time, he’s released classics including ‘Bangarang’ and ‘Jack Ü’ on the imprint.

‘FUS’ was announced by Skrillex on Instagram just a day before its release, writing: “OUT TOMORROW”, alongside a clip of a brand new track.

The record was teased some weeks before, first with a note posted on his Instagram asking fans to send in their emails to receive new music at a website addressed ‘FUS’, and later with a cryptic post simply reading: “It’s done”.

Those who sent their emails into the website received early snippets of the new album. Yesterday, March 31, fans were sent the full digital record ahead of its official release.

‘FUS’ comes in at just under 50 minutes long, and takes it back to classic Skrillex styles from dubstep to trap across 34 tracks.

The record’s release comes just months after Skrillex vowed to “go independent” after his latest project, saying that the music industry is “almost impossible to understand”.
