Bristol’s Motion shares first look at new venue and relaunch line-ups
Returning next month, ‘Motion 2.0’ will also welcome a brand new series of events, Momentum
Bristol nightclub Motion has revealed the first details and photos of its new event space, just a month after teasing its return to the city.
The Motion team announced today (September 30) that the new venue will set up shop next month at Unit 2, Victoria Terrace, St Philips, just a short walk from its former site.
Dubbed ‘Motion 2.0’, the venue is set to open on Friday, October 10, for the very first time, bringing the same “raw, industrial backdrop” that the club originally became known for.

Along with the news of its new location, the Motion team also detailed a brand new event series, Momentum, promising to bring international acts to the venue alongside local talent.
Y U QT, Skeptic, Chloé Robinson, IsGwan, LAMMER, and plenty more are all set to kick off festivities on Motion’s opening weekend through October 10 - 11.
Elsewhere over the coming months, Motion’s new event series will welcome the likes of SBTRKT, Sally C, Pangaea, ELKKA B2B Cinthie, DJ AG, and Bradley Zero.

In April, Motion announced that it would close permanently over summer, but planned to return in a new location. The long-running club first appealed for support to prevent its closure last year amid revelations that its lease would expire in July 2025.
Motion's owners insisted that they would “keep fighting to secure the strongest possible future” for the club, even launching a campaign titled #KEEPMOTIONMOVING, which looked to raise £250,000 to secure “a permanent home for Motion” and its sister venue, Marble Factory.
