"We're back": Motion to reopen later this year in new Bristol space

Motion has announced that it will reopen later this year after securing a new space in Bristol.

Announced via an Instagram post on Monday (August 25), owners confirmed that "Motion is evolving. We're moving to a new space, designed to be a home for Bristol's nightlife for years to come."

The news comes just weeks after the beloved nightclub had held its "final dance" at its home on Avon Street, on July 20; 19 years after the venue first opened.

Motion had first announced that it was at risk of closure last year, calling on the Bristol clubbing community to help fight a battle with its landlord in an attempt to secure a lease extension.

As it became clear Motion would not be able remain on Avon Street, owners began a campaign to help establish “Motion 2.0”, though upon its closure in July it was unclear if the team had secured a new venue.

According to Bristol Live, the new venue will be located on Victoria Terrace, St Phillips — with Motion's new party concept, Momentum, set to "champion local artists and independent brands" within its new home.

Motion has also called from input from the local community to help shape Momentum and the new venue's future.
