Black Artist Database (B.A.D) and MOKO Tottenham have teamed up on a fundraiser event for those affected by Hurricane Beryl.

The event will take place next Saturday (July 20), featuring dance music and reggae DJs including ELLADHC, Isaac Carter, T Dunn, Ellaweeez and Mighty Ruler Soundsystem, as well as some yet-to-be-revealed special guests.

The fundraising event was announced on Instagram earlier this week alongside the message: “This isn’t just a party – it’s a mission!"

"Every ticket, every dance move, and every donation goes straight to grassroots heroes on the ground, working tirelessly to rebuild and restore the beautiful Caribbean. If you can’t make it buy a ticket anyway!”

The event is raising money for victims of Hurricane Beryl, which ripped through parts of the Caribbean at the end of June and subsequently affected the Yucatán Peninsula and the Gulf Coast of the United States, leaving thousands without a home.

Some of the Caribbean islands affected most were the Grenadine Islands of Union, Petit St Vincent, Palm Island and Mayreau, as well as St Vincent, The Cayman Islands, Jamaica, and the Grenadian Islands of Carriacou and Petite Martinique.

Black Artist Database was created by NIKS in 2020 to champion Black voices in the music scene, before launching it as a label in 2023. The collaborative event will take place at MOKO, the new Tottenham venue which was opened last August by Bradley Zero and Nathaniel Williams, who also run sister venue Jumbi in Peckham.
