Beirut’s AHM Club rebuilt following catastrophic blast

Beirut’s legendary AHM Club has reopened with a brand new look after almost a year of closure.

The club, which sits in the Central District in Lebanon’s capital city, originally opened in 2022 after its former home endured the COVID pandemic and a catastrophic 2020 explosion which significantly damaged the venue.

AHM then closed again in late 2023 to undergo a redesign, reopening officially on July 12, 2024, with a brand new look. The opening night saw performances from PAWSA and Dennis Cruz, followed by an all-night-long event from Bedouin the following night.

The relaunch is led by the Beirut-based creative studio Factory People, and was built in collaboration with award-winning Lebanese architect Carl Gerges.

The club’s relaunch also coincides with celebrations of 10 years of nightlife in Lebanon, welcoming back throwback club nights including 2ND SUN, Love Night, and House Of Pop, each of which has become synonymous with AHM over the years.

Following a devastating blast in Beirut’s city centre in 2020 which destroyed most of the former venue, AHM’s owner, Jade, told The Guardian that it was a “huge catastrophe for morale”.

Jade, who also owns AHM’s sister venue The Grand Factory which reopened again last year, explained in the same interview: “Our summer club, AHM, has been destroyed, plus our offices, and Grand Factory is 45% destroyed, too.”

Over the coming months, AHM will welcome back fan favourites including Mathame, Nicole Moudaber, Innellea, Francis Mercier, Folamour, Adriatique, and more. Check out a list of forthcoming events at AHM below, and watch a video giving a first look into the freshly designed space.
