Arca composes the startup chime for the new Sega Genesis
Listen to Arca's jingle for the retro gaming remake
The innovative and bold Venezuelan artist Arca has been tapped by Sega to create the startup jingle for the new Sega Genesis remake.
Analogue announced the Sega Genesis remake back in October of 2018. Rebranded as the Mega Sega, the HD console capitalizes on the recent retro gaming craze and is compatible with the 2,180+ Sega Genesis, Mega Drive and Master System game cartridge library. The console lets you explore or re-explore Sega's 16-bit and 8-bit era in 1080p with 48KHz 16-bit stereo.
Arca's glitchy and evocative 12-second composition for Sega is the first thing you hear when you boot-up the console. Check it out below.
Arca was also tapped by Rockstar Games to contribute to last year's Red Dead Redemption 2 game soundtrack.
The Mega Sega will be available for $190 this April. Pre-order here.
