Djrum ‘Fabric: London Unlocked’

There aren’t enough glowing adjectives and superlatives in the dictionary to describe this set: wizardry, mastery, total-fucking-genius — take your pick. The way DjRUM manipuluates records and the type of blends he pulls off are genuinely mind-blowing. And to cap it off, it’s all filmed in the impressive setting of the top of London’s Tower Bridge. Words can’t do it justice, just watch.

Scorpion Kings (DJ Maphorisa & Kabza De Small) ‘Mixmag In Session’

Two titans of the South Africa’s amapiano scene - arguably the breakout genre of 2021 - deliver a flawless showcase of the sound. It's the perfect soundtrack to summer hangs that drift from chilling to partying, opening soothing and melodic, before switching up to more stirring territory.

Sampha on NTS Radio

As part of NTS’ 10th anniversary, Sampha, the reclusive R&B artist who shook the UK scene with debut album, 'Process' back in 2017, returned to the airwaves as part of Liz Johnson Artur’s takeover. It’s a welcome return, as the artist cycles through work from Duval Timothy, Oumou Sangare and many others.

Anz ‘Garage Hour on Rinse FM’

It only seems natural that Anz's brand of cheerfulness and sentimentality would work magic with a Rinse FM Garage Hour. Unafraid to veer off-script to curate a vibe, Anz sways from classic piano house bangers such as ‘Addiction’ by Void into UKG crowd-pleasers like Rip Productions ‘Pick Me Up’. The true mastery of this mix is the well-timed excursions into dirtier basslines that are always backed up with sunshine-drenched vocals, up-tempo chimes and cheeky riffs. It veers on the side of silly, but that's never a bad thing with a garage mix - guaranteeing that at least once you will be raising your hands in the air and singing along, regardless of where you're listening.

Angel D'lite 'Music They Love #56 - Cold Cuts // Hot Wax'

Piano house? good. Hardcore? good. Garage? good. Bleeps 'n' R&B? GREAT. What's not to love about this power-hour mix from London's very own Angel D'Lite. In the space of 59 minutes, Angel takes us on a voyage through sugar, spice and everything nice - including Larry Tee and La Palace De Beaute's 'Voguing (love machine mix)', acid banger 'Hold Me Real Tight' by Dubwise and the ivory-tinkling 'Teknologi Part 1' from 'Urban Hype'.

Sam Goku 'Ransom Note's Shine A Light On Mix'

Munich’s Sam Goku takes over another Ransom Note mix with an hour of eclectic joy - moving from ambient, right through to disco, garage, breaks, and just about everything in between. Taking influence from no one but his charming self, this mix centres in on the selector’s wide-ranging tastes.

Aqwea on NTS Radio

London producer and DJ Aqwea graces NTS Radio for another monthly show. Her eclectic tastes are present throughout the show, which starts off with some classic Grover Washington, stops off at Flying Lotus, and ends on Àbáse. A joyful monthly listen.

Wonja 'Dekmantel Podcast 328'

Wonja puts her mammoth record collection to use with her Dekmantel mix, with what she calls “hard sci-fi party tracks” - abstract tracks go hand-in-hand with the regular 4/4s, taking this mix through intergalactic sounds to a transcendental moment toward the end of the two-hour slot heading back to ambient, percussive beats.
