Mixmag and BUDX are proud to partner on a groundbreaking new Lab destination touching down this summer: Lab Johannesburg.

On Wednesday, June 5, The Lab Johannesburg invites national celebrity DJ Zinhle and longtime South African house music influencer Claude Baloyi to show off their chops at our brand new dance space in the City of Gold.

On top of being one of the most celebrated female house DJ's in all of South Africa, DJ Zinhle is also a producer, trained TV presenter and author who has become a household name for many throughout her country. First stepping up to the decks after being inspired and schooled in the art of DJing by her brother Zak back in 2004, Zinhle has spent the past decade and a half mastering her craft, honing her production skills and building her celebrity profile. In 2009 she launched FUSE academy - a DJ school that aims to empower young females interested in a career within the entertainment industry. A champion of women empowerment, DJ Zinhle launched a unique local television reality series last year called It Takes a Village that is committed to making a difference in the lives of young women in South Africa. In addition to all of her extraordinary social work, her sounds continue to inspire dancefloor revelers all over the nation.

On opening duties, a venerable veteran of South Africa's house music scene, Claude Baloyi, AKA DJ Claude, will fire up the night's proceedings. He started his journey behind the decks back in 1995 and got his big break when he got signed to Sugartrax in 2000. Sugartrax later evolved into what is one of South Africa's most essential house music institutions, Soul Candi. His compilation mixes 'Stereo Candi 1 + 2' gained him national recognition as a top tier dance music purveyor and all six volumes of the series is considered essential listening material by the true heads of South Africa's house music scene.

BUDX is a global platform that supports and spotlights outstanding creative minds in music and culture from around the world.
