Mixmag and BUDX are proud to partner on a groundbreaking new Lab destination touching down this summer: Lab Johannesburg.

On Wednesday, June 19 The Lab Johannesburg welcomes South African house duo Black Motion and Lemon & Herb to take over the decks in the City of Gold.

Black Motion (aka DJ Murder and Thabo) teamed up in 2010 and have since been defining their own particular brand of South African house music. Their use of traditional drums and other culturally specific live instruments first captured the attention of the electronic music world in 2011 with the release of their first hit single ‘Banane Mavoko’. Black Motion strives to connect with their roots and achieve a distinctive sound through the innovative use of Zulu, Tsonga or any of the 11 native South African languages.

Lemon & Herb is made up of Don Sithole and Skhumbuzo Radebe. The pair of producer/DJs grew up in the Kwazulu Natal Province in South Africa -- a region home to many other artists dominating the house music scene. They first gained recognition with the release of their remix of ‘Love Someone’ with Atjazz and Robert Owens. Since then Lemon & Herb has done work for international House labels such as Offering Recordings, Cabana Records, Jack 2 Jazz, Arrecha Records and many others and have continued to be a driving force in South Africa’s electronic music scene.

Black Motion will be streaming on Facebook on Thursday June 20 at 12:00pm ET and Lemon & Herb on Monday June 24 at 1:00PM ET.

BUDX is a global platform that supports and spotlights outstanding creative minds in music and culture from around the world.
