BCM Mallorca not meeting safety standards and closing down
The end of an era for Mallorca's biggest nightclub in the boozy party town of Magaluf. Shoddy building works in 2015 meant BCM didn't meet safety standards and Calvià municipality authorities deemed it unsafe to stay open in April. The closure got the green light just a month after BCM's owner, Bartolomé Cursach, was imprisoned on 16 charges including extortion and murder. A town hall official also lost their job in February due to attempts of stopping a licensing investigation taking place.
