Zanzibar’s Soundscapes festival set to make its return to Bwejuu Beach this weekend

The fourth edition of the boutique festival is set to welcome the likes of Sonja Moonear, O.BEE, Facesoul and Cristi Cons

Zanzibar's Soundscapes festival is set to kick off its fourth edition this weekend.

The boutique festival, which first took place in 2022, is set to return to Zanzibar’s Bwejuu Beach from Saturday (June 15) until next Wednesday (June 19).

Attendees will be welcomed to dance day and night on the private beach of the 100-year-old coconut tree plantation, overlooking the Indian Ocean.

Spanning across four days, acts include global names such as Sonja Moonear, Facesoul, Floyd Lavine, Cristi Cons, O.BEE, Tomas Station, Cnote, and many more.

These acts will be playing across two stages including the mainstage and the new Oasis stage which since debuting at last year’s festival has since been redesigned and renovated.

The festival has named this weekend’s edition ‘Wings of Change’ to reflect its promise to transform and grow since its launch in 2022.

This year, Soundscapes has teamed up with Sole DXB who have commissioned Jamaican sound system builder, Ronald ‘Uncle Ronnie’ Jarrett of 8 Mile Sound to create a huge artist and crowd-facing speaker stack.

"We are thrilled to join forces with Sole DXB to introduce the Sole Sound System to Soundscapes, becoming the first electronic music festival to push the boundaries of what’s possible sonically," says Ahmed Hameed, Co-Founder at Soundscapes.

Last year the co-founders of Soundscapes purchased the land that hosts the festival to continue throwing the event annually as well as to guarantee the area is looked after.

Soundscapes will take place from June 15 until June 19 in Bwejuu, Zanzibar. Final tickets are available to purchase here.
