Communities Behind the Dancefloor tells the story of Sub Club, The Gärten, Apolo X Nitsa and Output
Ballantine’s True Music Series has released a new documentary titled Communities Behind the Dancefloor, going in-depth on the stories behind four gamechanging clubs from across the globe.
Glasgow’s home of rowdy ceiling-hitters Sub Club, Beirut’s unique pyramid structure The Gärten (pictured), Barcelona’s long-running landmark Nitsa x Apolo, and former NYC house and techno haven Output, which closed down at the start of this year.
Over the course of the documentary, which runs just shy of 30 minutes, Ballantine’s explores the hard-working communities behind each club that turned them into dance institutions. Exclusive interviews with owners, staff, promoters and DJs feature, as well as previously unseen footage.
