Watch an orchestra perform iconic tracks from the Ed Banger catalogue

The label recently celebrated its 15 year anniversary

Ed Banger Records - the seminal French imprint that has brought you music from the likes of Justice, Mr. Oizo, Busy P, Cassius and the late, great DJ Mehdi - recently celebrated its 15-year anniversary at the Le Grand Rex concert hall in Paris.

Rather than commemorate the milestone with a line-up of electronic music superstars, the imprint commissioned a 70-piece concert orchestra to play over 90-minutes of beloved tracks from the Ed Banger catalogue.

Orchestrated, arranged and conduced by composer Thomas Roussel, the tracks performed by the orchestra included Uffie’s ‘Pop The Glock’, Justice’s ‘D.A.N.C.E’, Busy P’s ‘Pedrophilia’ and Laurent Garnier’s ‘Jacques in the Box.’

Other recent examples of dance music going orchestral include Deadmau5’s new symphonious album ‘where’s the drop?’ and Pete Tong’s collaboration with The Heritage Orchestra.

The concert was filmed by the French music blog La Blogothèque. You can watch the Ed Banger 15 year anniversary concert below.
