New nightclub to open in Los Angeles this year, ORIGIN

Flaunting both indoor and outdoor spaces, the new venue is set to open in the coming months

A new nightclub is opening in the heart of Downtown Los Angeles later this year, ORIGIN.

The venue will debut in the coming months between late summer and early autumn, taking over a space in LA’s Arts District as an addition to an existing events venue of the same name.

The Imperial Street venue will feature both indoor and outdoor areas, with early renders shared by ORIGIN showing its natural design and industrial-style rooms.

According to Billboard, the new space will host club nights as well as cultural, arts and community events, but will mostly focus on electronic music programming.

While little information has been revealed about the new club just yet, ORIGIN’s website offers those interested to sign up in order to find out more about its initial events.

ORIGIN promises to bring "a new kind of nightlife" to Los Angeles, established by Roni Mehrabian and Cyril Bitar, the brains behind nightlife brands SBCLTR and Minimal Effort.

Their brands are responsible for bringing the likes of Bonobo, Nora En Pure, Kevin Saunderson, DJ Harvey and many more to parties across LA in recent years.

The new venue will host predominantly live acts and "indie electronic bookings" on Friday nights, while Saturdays will focus on a mixture of daytime outdoor events and "late-night house and techno programming" (via Billboard).

The venue will feature a bespoke analogue KV2 Audio soundsystem, while the venue’s design is led by Marc Dizon, who is responsible for the design of venues such as New York’s Brooklyn Mirage and Las Vegas’ Hakkasan.
