Virgil Abloh’s last Louis Vuitton collection displayed at Paris Fashion Week
The late DJ and fashion visionary had a Tyler the Creator and Benji B soundtrack playing throughout the show
Virgil Abloh’s Men’s Fall/Winter 2022 for Louis Vuitton was presented on Thursday as part of Paris Fashion Week.
It is the last collection made by fashion designer and artistic director of Louis Vuitton menswear, Virgil Abloh, who passed away of cancer in November aged just 41.
His last show was built around the concept of the "Louis' Dreamhouse" and broke the gender norms of masculinity in the designs by including dresses and skirts to the men’s collection.

Abloh is quoted in the show notes saying: "I don't believe in gender, I believe in design," which was a message reflected on the runway.
Throughout the show a Tyler the Creator soundtrack played with arrangements by Arthur Verocai and creative direction by Benji B.
Tyler wrote eight new pieces for the show and tweeted the word “blessed” whilst also sharing an Instagram story writing “I love y’all,” with an image of the musicians at the show.
Tyler was also included riding a bike along the runway which added to the playful theme which was described in the show notes to being “a spark of imagination that turns into an eternal flame”.

Prior to the show, Kim Jones of Dior said: "It's going to be very emotional,".
He explained: "[Virgil and I] travelled the world together. I feel very lucky to have known him. It's such a waste to think what he would have done.
"He planned everything so perfectly up to the last minute. You have to commend him, he was so brave in it."
