The Weeknd won't do any more features "unless Daft Punk get back together"

The artist teased what claimed to be the “final feature” of his career, ‘Another One Of Me’, at a show in Warsaw

The Weeknd has announced the “final feature” of his career unless Daft Punk reunite.

Performing in Warsaw, Poland as part of his After Hours Til Dawn tour, The Weeknd - Abel Tesfaye - announced his final feature is set for release soon.

Speaking to the crowd, The Weeknd revealed the upcoming track, ‘Another One Of Me’ and said: “I just wanna say, this, this is gonna be the last feature I ever do, ever in my career, so I wanna perform it for you guys tonight.”

After the show, he took to Twitter to share a video from this moment including a snippet of the unreleased track.

The post includes the caption: “The final feature… unless daft punk ever get back together”.

The Weeknd has previously worked with Daft Punk on tracks, ‘Starboy’ and ‘I Feel It Coming’.

In 2021, he referred to the robotic duo in an interview with Variety in which he stated: “Those guys are one of the reasons I make music.”

Daft Punk officially split in 2016, and in a recent interview with the BBC, one-half of the duo, Thomas Bangalter, revealed the reason for this.

"My concerns about the rise of artificial intelligence go beyond its use in music creation," he explained. “I almost consider the character of the robots like a Marina Abramović performance art installation that lasted for 20 years," he says.

“As much as I love this character, the last thing I would want to be, in the world we live in, in 2023, is a robot.”

The Weeknd's previous features have seen him work with the likes of Drake, Future, Lana Del Rey, FKA Twigs and more recently with Travis Scott on his latest album, ‘Utopia’.

No release date for his “final feature” ‘Another One Of Me’ has been revealed nor who he created the track with.
