Snapped: HYTE New York returns with its biggest North American showcase to date

New York City's Independence Day weekend is often the most jam-packed four days off music fans get to relish in. But between every big name, massive crowd and Funktion One system that graced the scene, HYTE's marvelous return to the city took the cake as the talk of the town.

First, there was the line-up, which compacted so many all-star names in one place that every set seemed more of a main stage closing than daytime party. The master Maceo Plex served across the only three-hour slot of the event, illustrating the island's drawn out sunset with purpose, revealing HYTE's astonishing visual catalogue as darkness progressed half-way into the performance. Also on the bill was Maya Jane Coles, Richie Hawtin, Jackmaster, Peggy Gou, Julia Govor, Matrixxman, Rødhåd and Marcel Dettmann.

HYTE New York effectively showcased the scope of RPM Presents' new Governors Island venue, which specially added a full second stage hosted by Detroit's Movement, capping its biggest North American event to date with over 5000 fans. Between the main stage, VIP area, Mixmag lounge and side stage, attendees had ample room to dance, relax and even chat with artists throughout the day.
