Snapped: CRSSD Fest Spring 2017, San Diego, USA
Oceanside moments with Dusky, Peggy Gou, Josh Wink and more
San Diego's idyllic oceanside played host yet again to the bi-annnual return of CRSSD Festival, an event that's grabbed hold of the US' rapidly growing interest in underground sounds and produced a festival that embodies all things California while championing some of the best talent from all around.
This spring was no different, seeing a line-up that balanced old school mavens like Josh Wink, 2manydjs, Skream and Damian Lazarus with exciting newcomers like Peggy Gou, Mija, Bob Moses and more. The crowd poured out from every which way across three stages of the festival, eagerly taking in every beat and kick drum from a plethora of talents.
Despite fluctuating temperatures - an atypical experience for the signature sunny San Diego - the music served as the anchoring quality for each and every crowd. Dusky captured a massive audience for their new live set up on the festival's main stage while elsewhere, Mija flowed from Latmun into drum 'n' bass, proving her ability to fine tune a set based on her surrounding and crowd.
Sunday's final sets saw a difficult choice for party goers, splitting the crowd across Flume, Claude VonStroke and Seth Troxler B2B Eats Everything, each offering a different experience but a guaranteed set to remember.
