Nyra returns with first Canoe EP in two years

The record follows the emotive Adonis EP debut release unveiled last year

Adonis resident Nyra has returned with his first Canoe EP in two years, 'Canoe 14'.

As the name suggests, the EP is 14th in the 'Canoe' series debuted in 2019, and involves two tracks inspired by the producer and DJ's hometown of Sheffield and contrastingly, Belgian rave sounds.

The record kicks off with the euphoric, piano house-inspired 'Energy Bliss'. Heftily inspired by his clubbing experiences in Sheffield in his formative years, the track is reminiscent of the Summer of Love with its energetic and pummelling '90s rave beats.

Following the opener is the thrilling 'Light Source'. Described by Nyra himself as comprising of "intergalactic future signs", the artist's love for rave sounds is reinforced further, this time with a demonstration of his love for the sounds of Belgium.

"Don’t Worry Be Happy! Is the phrase which best describes these two intergalactic future sounds," he remarks on the EP.

'Canoe 14' follows Nyra's contribution to the debut Adonis EP, which marked the launch of the queer party's record label. Two of his tracks make up the four-track EP, with the record completed by fellow party mainstay Wilson Phoenix to curate a house and electro-infused debut.
