Nina Kraviz's GALAXIID imprint to reissue rare 1997 album from Solar X
‘X-Rated’ will be available on vinyl for the very first time
Nina Kraviz’s GALAXIID label has announced its second release, detailing a reissue of Solar X’s rare 1997 album ‘X-Rated’.
The forthcoming reissue will see the album pressed onto wax for the very first time, with a digital release also scheduled.
Originally releasing in February 1997, the sprawling project is sure to find new fans as it lands on Kraviz’ трип Recordings offshoot imprint next year. It follows up GALAXIID's inaugural release, a reissue of Species Of Fishes' 1996 album 'Trip Trap'.
On the album Russian producer Solar X, aka Roman Belavkin, weaves through techno, IDM and electro for a sonic journey that has been described as a transportation to the, “strange sonic world of an elusive 90s pioneer.”
Kraviz included a track from 'X-Rated' in her January 2018 Mixmag Cover Mix. Picking cut 'Mistress Awaits You' she explained:
"This is a track from Solar X’s ‘X-Rated’ album that I’m putting out as a second release on Galaxiid. I was honoured to commission one of Keiichi Tanaami’s paintings (the amazing Japanese artist with a serious psychedelic element in his work) for the artwork, and there will be more to follow."
GALAXIID will release ‘X-Rated’ on February 4. Tune in below to hear clips from the forthcoming album.
