New open-air nightclub, Progress Centre, to open in Manchester in April
Its aim is to bring a mixture of local, national and international artists to the city-centre location
A new open-air nightclub, Progress Centre, has been launched in Manchester with its programme set to kick off in April and run until September.
Launched by the team behind The Loft, Animal Crossing and Summer of Love festival, its summer programme will feature Locus, Slapfunk, Sasha, Dyed Soundorom b2b Gene on Earth, Gemma Arnott and several more.
Dubbed as "created by the people", the promoters took to social media to gather customer feedback in order to craft a community-influenced venue.

“For us to include the voices of the people in the space curation further amplifies that it will be fit for purpose," explains promoter Olli Ryder. "Options are scarce across the city and the UK, so when a new space is introduced, it’s key to ensure you deliver exactly what the people want.
"It’s the community of dancers you do this for; it’s those who make this all possible; you’re asked if you’d like any dessert at the end of a meal, so why should it be any different when creating a club?”
The club is set to feature an open-air (but covered) dance-floor with a Funktion One soundsystem and lighting inspired by Venice's After Capsule garden. Not stopping there at the European inspiration, Progress Centre will offer seating options for nighttime dancing breaks and grabbing food when needed.
