Movement Detroit's stacked lineup gets sorted with set times and showcases
Featuring Claude VonStroke, Nina Kraviz, The Martinez Brothers b2b Loco Dice and more
Movement Detroit has announced its schedule for 2018 along with stage details and showcases.
Taking place once again on Memorial Day weekend (May 26-28), the three-day festival's anticipated closers will be Claude VonStroke, Loco Dice b2b The Martinez Brothers and a celebratory 25th anniversary performance from all nine members of the Wu Tang Clan.
The festival’s original five stages are back and will feature new designs and elements for the Red Bull Music Stage, Stargate Stage and the Pyramid Stage. More information will be posted to the festival’s social media channels following the set times announcement.
This year’s stages are as follows: Movement Stage, Red Bull Music Stage, Stargate Stage, Pyramid Stage and Resident Advisor Underground Stage.
The first day's highlights include Claude VonStroke closing out the Movement Stage for the first time, following Justin Martin. Meanwhile, Carl Craig and friends will take over the newly-designed Stargate Stage for another edition of Detroit Love and the Resident Advisor Underground Stage will host one of Detroit’s most celebrated labels, Interdimensional Transmissions. Festival favorite Maceo Plex will close out the newly-designed Pyramid Stage.
Day two is packed with talent, including a rare b2b closing set by Loco Dice and The Martinez Brothers on the Movement Stage, while legendary French DJ and producer Laurent Garnier returns to the festival along with Modeselektor, Shigeto, Avalon Emerson, Nastia, Tiga, Marcel Dettmann and Nina Kraviz to close it out.
The final day rounds out the event with a special performance by all nine members of the Wu-Tang Clan celebrating the legendary hip-hop group’s 25th anniversary and their classic debut album 'Enter the Wu-Tang (36 Chambers)'. Charlotte de Witte makes her Movement debut and Mad Decent label boss Diplo returns to the festival for a closing set. Plus, acclaimed jazz and hip-hop quartet BADBADNOTGOOD, REZZ, Mija, and J.Phlip also perform.
