Mixmag and BUDX launch a new global documentary series

A special five-part series to showcase artists and collectives from around the world

Last year Budweiser and Mixmag launched BUDX – a global series of events that explored the best and freshest music, culture and art from every corner of the planet.

Today we launch our Kings of Culture documentary project, a special five-part series to showcase artists and collectives from around the world, each of which delves into the scenes that are pushing forward creativity.

We start our journey in Ho Chi Minh City, the Vietnamese hotspot that's become a destination for backpackers and electronic music lovers alike. It's bursting fashion scene and hyped graffiti movement are only a few of the reasons it's such a revered city.

Then it's onto Lagos, one of the most vibrant cities in the world. While we were there, we explored the boom in Nigerian fashion and streetwear and also saw experienced the importance of dance, both within music and wider culture.

Amsterdam is of course one of the most culturally relevant cities in Europe and indeed around the globe. It houses some of the best clubs in operation today including De School, Gashouder and Warehouse Elemenstraat and its progressive licensing means it's a truly 24-hour city. Add to that some of the most hyped streetwear in the game and it becomes a certified Dutch dream.

The next stop takes us to Mumbai which is the home of our newly launched Lab BUDX Edition. One of India's most popular and heralded cities, where food, music, culture combine alongside sprawling city skylines to form a magical hub of creativity.

Across the series, you'll meet the inimitable Westsyde Lifestyle dance crew in Lagos, get inside the mind of acclaimed artist and designer Danny Daos and Quang Minh in Ho Chi Minh City, find out how Amsterdam streetwear brand Patta went global, and in Mumbai you'll discover the magic of Inclnk Records.

Over the next five weeks, we'll be releasing each of the episodes but for now check out the trailer below.
