During the 80s the publication evolved into a magazine that covered everything dance music and club culture. At its height the print edition reached a circulation of 70,000 copies, however print has been paused since the COVID pandemic.

Over the years Mixmag has covered some of dance music's biggest names and most influential figures such as Bjork, James Blake, Jeff Mills and Peggy Gou. Since its first edition in 1983, Mixmag has branched into mixes, events, festivals, surveys and more.
