Midland announces first EP in four years, ‘You Never Take Me Dancing’

New single 'Drift Into The Algorithm' is out now

Midland has announced his first solo EP in four years.

Titled ‘You Never Take Me Dancing’, the EP includes four new tracks from Midland including the single ‘Drift Into The Algorithm’ which is out now.

The project represents the “next chapter” of Midland’s studio process following on from his 2019 release ‘The Alchemy of Circumstance’.

Announcing the project on Instagram, Midland writes: “Its been 4 years since I put out new music. Over lockdown I retreated fully, burnt out in many ways. It also coincided with a studio move and overhaul of my studio process.

“As I started to make music again, I instead focussed on the simple joy of creating with with zero thought about sharing it publicly.”

He continues: “I have never enjoyed making music like I do now and I think it shines through in these tracks. This EP represents a new chapter for me and I am excited to share the rest of it as well as a bunch more music over the next 12 months.”

Along with this new project, Midland is hosting a night at fabric with the likes of rRoxymore, Todd Edwards, Peach and many more.

The event is set to run on October 7 with a three-room showcase curated by Midland.

Talking about the upcoming night he says: “I first came to fabric as a fresh-faced youth and have got to play all three rooms and eventually recorded my FABRICLIVE cd... This feels like another personal milestone and I hope to see as many of you there as possible…”
