Manchester's audiophile destination NAM launches new concept, 'Lotus'

The night is dedicated to womxn DJs from the city and beyond

Manchester's audiophile venue, NAM, has launched its new night, entitled 'Lotus'.

Kicking off on June 9, the concept is dedicated to womxn DJs from Manchester and beyond and is in collaboration with size?, offering a panel discussion, a variety of DJ sets and even nail art from 6pm till 11pm.

Following the launch, Lotus by NAM will take place each Thursday in the venue's basement, offering attendees chance to 'sit back, relax and soak up sounds'.

The first hour of the event is where a panel discussion will take place, hosted by Baz, aka Plug One. From 7pm, the event will turn into a party, with the launch event seeing SCAPA kick things off.

"I'm so excited to be on the lineup with such talented womxn," says SCAPA. "It's an honour to be a part of something so special and my track selection is definitely going to match that energy.”

Following SCAPA is P-Ro Jones, who will provide an extensive catalogue of soul, with Egg On Toast from the city's Not Bad For A Girl collective, and Jess Rose closing the launch.

"Manchester has such a powerful presence of womxn in its music scene - from its way-pavers to the new generation of artists," P-Ro explains. "It's an honour to be speaking on behalf of such royalty and to be a part of this city's exciting present and future for once-marginalised musicians."
