London’s Printworks will reopen in 2026 as part of new development, organisers say

The venue hosted its "Final Party" on Monday

Broadwick Live, the operators of recently closed London venue Printworks have announced that they expect to see the venue return in some form in just three years.

The news comes just a day after the venue’s closure on May 1 after spending six years in Surrey Quays. The iconic venue was forced to close its doors due to redevelopment plans of the area, which would see new luxury flats, offices, and restaurants built in its place.

Printworks celebrated its tenure with a series of parties throughout March and April with sets from the likes of Bicep, Peggy Gou, Black Coffee, BAMBII, Andy C, Róisín Murphy, and more.

Broadwick Live have since revealed that they're hopeful for the reopening of Printworks in the near future on the same redeveloped site.

“We are delighted to announce that Printworks hopes to return in three years and that we will continue to work with our partners at British Land to create the future cultural venue that retains the essence of the iconic Press Halls,” Broadwick’s Director of Strategy, Simeon Aldred, announced yesterday.

‘Printworks 2.0’, as it has been coined, would return in 2026 with the promise to keep in similar styling of Printworks’ industrial space, which currently sits inside a former printing plant across 10,000 square metres. “Printworks has brought lasting impact to our scene, to our city, to artists and our local community,” Aldred said.

“The future Printworks venue aims to build on this, bringing together all the best in all electronic music and visual arts, both as well as hosting some of the world's best orchestras, ballet companies and other art forms”.

The announcement has also been endorsed by London’s Night Czar Amy Lamé, who claimed to be “delighted that there is an exciting future ahead for Printworks”.

“London’s world-famous nightlife is the heartbeat of our capital and Printworks has played a dynamic role bringing together culture, music and entertainment and attracting artists and visitors from all over the world,” she added.
