Kush Arora announces new EP ‘Vision’

It’ll be released on Tash LC’s imprint, Club Yeke

Kush Arora has announced his new EP, ‘Vision’.

It’s due for release on February 7 via Tash LC’s Club Yeke.

One of the four tracks on the EP, ‘Bronze Riddim’, is available now. Arora explains that the track ‘channels the madness from the past two years’: the tune was written at the outset of 2021.

He adds: “This release was special to me, and I felt like Club Yeke was perfect to do this with because of the mutual understanding of all our influences: past, present and future."

"The 'Vision' EP captures where I see riddim culture in the present, and also an update on the sounds that first got me into producing riddims and working with vocalists with an open dialogue back in the day.”

The EP’s opener, ‘Pon My Block’, sees a blend of dancehall vocals and recent incarnations of drill, featuring vocalist 45diBoss. An idea in his head for a long time, Arora had heard 'touches of the styles connect' when the track was written - but there "wasn't much at the time."

Second track ‘Wine an Go Down’ sees the feature of Blackout JA, harnessing a bashment vibe - with Arora getting Blackout JA involved as first pick "due to his ruffneck but rootsy vocals."

EP finisher ‘Desert Prince Riddim’ is a bass-synth cut with echoing percussives, presenting the fun side of productions "for the dancers."

Kush Arora grew up listening to dancehall, whilst exploring fusions of this sound and more over the years.

‘Visions’ reflects this, and features nods to the latest merging of sounds emerging from London and beyond.
