Kev Koko releases new single, ‘Roof’
It’s the first from his upcoming EP
Berlin-based DJ, producer and singer Kev Koko has released his new single, ‘Roof’, which dropped on Friday.
He’s worked on the release with Berlin-based mixer Markus Ganter, and it’ll form the first single from his upcoming EP.
The track sees blends of dark, gritty techno and trap-inspired sonics accompanied by Koko’s own vocals. The melodic, delicate synths fuse with Koko’s Berlin drum-pattern sound to construct a unique techno tune.

Koko - member of Berlin Collective Live from Earth, an artistic fashion brand and record label - tells us the following on the upcoming release:
“‘Roof' is a techno beat, but it has the attitude of a rock song. It is about a bad habit that you want to let go of — and the peer pressure that surrounds it... If you move on in your life, the people around you have to move on, too. Otherwise, you have to move on without them."

"Techno is beautiful, and I love it, but I think club music could be more eclectic these days."
