Kanye West pulled from 2022 GRAMMY performances
The Recording Academy banned the rapper due to his “concerning online behaviour”
Kanye West has been pulled from this year’s line-up of GRAMMY performers, according to Variety.
The rapper was pulled just weeks ahead of his scheduled appearance at 2022’s awards ceremony, with reasons pointing to his “concerning online behaviour”.
Variety reported that The Recording Academy pulled the plug on his performance over the weekend, set to take place in Las Vegas on Monday, April 4.
A rep for artists who are set to perform at the GRAMMYs allegedly told the news outlet that the decision was “confirmed”, and that “Kanye’s team isn’t surprised by the decision”.

According to Variety, the team behind Kanye received the news via a phone call where they were told the rapper had been pulled.
Recently, Kanye’s online presence has caused a stir amongst fans and onlookers who have witnessed the rapper’s public digs towards ex-wife Kim Kardashian and her new boyfriend Pete Davidson.
Ye also posted public digs at GRAMMYs host Trevor Noah using a slur against the television personality, potentially leading to The Recording Academy’s decision.
The rapper supposedly posted about Noah after making comments about Ye on The Daily Show: “I’ll be honest with you - what I see from the situation is a woman who wants to live her life without being harassed by an ex-boyfriend or an ex-husband or an ex-anything,” he said.

“With Kanye, we don’t know how to feel. We don’t know how to worry. And I think Kanye doesn’t seem to understand that,” Noah responded.
“He goes, well, ‘leave me to create my art.’ Yeah but Kanye, you told us you have problems. Now when we worry about that, you say we shouldn’t worry because it’s not problems. Or it is problems? Which is it?”
The post landed Ye a 24-hour ban from Instagram for “violating the platform’s policies on hate speech, bullying and harassment”.
