Joy Orbison and Overmono team up on new track ‘Blind Date’
The trio last linked up over three years ago
Joy Orbison and Overmono have teamed back up on a brand new single, ‘Blind Date’.
The track marks the trio’s first new collaboration in over three years, following the 2019-released double tracker ‘Bromley/Still Moving’, their debut link-up.
Released on XL Recordings on Friday, September 23, ‘Blind Date’ features vocals from US singer-songwriter ABRA over a thumping array of synths and pads, and showcasing similar sounds to both Joy Orbison and Overmono’s solo works.

‘Blind Date’ was first played out by Overmono this summer at festivals including Glastonbury, We Out Here, and Dekmantel. “You might have heard me (sledge) hammering it into my sets all summer or as a pinnacle part of T&Es live show,” said Joy Orbison on Instagram.
“The first Joy Overmono collab was forged in the boys old studio in Bromley and came together really quickly - we just clicked from the off,” he explained. "Moving away from Bromley was traumatic for obvious reasons and consequently this one took a little longer.”
“We ended up working on this track in about 4 or 5 different studios, including a mad trip to Peter Gabriel’s country pad. The three of us often have a really clear idea of what we wanna do together and we’ve been tweaking this one for quite a while now.”
