Jamie xx returns with brand new track, ‘Let’s Do It Again’

The producer is back with his first new music in two years

Jamie xx has just dropped his first new solo music in two years with the jubilant, bouncing track ‘Let’s Do It Again’.

The London-based artist made his comeback today two years after the release of his acclaimed solo single ‘Idontknow’, a roaring return for the producer who’s dropped just two tracks since 2015’s ‘In Colour’.

The new track follows the release of ‘Fruit’, a single by the musicians’ bandmate in The xx, Oliver Sim, which was produced by Jamie himself.

‘Let’s Do It Again’ lands on Young with an ecstatic call to the dancefloor built on ‘tension, drama and catharsis’. The track steadily ramps up to a joyous finale in typical Jamie xx fashion.

“I had a lot of fun trying this one out at festivals last year. You might recognise it… LET’S DO IT AGAIN is out on Tuesday,” the producer revealed on Instagram ahead of the track’s release.

Today, Jamie xx also debuts his first episode on Interludes Radio, a brand new station curated by The xx. Currently, the station only features one episode by Oliver Sim who chatted to musicians and filmmakers on the radio’s launch last month.

"I started making ['Let's Do It Again] at a time when we weren’t sure when we were going to be able to do stuff. I was looking forward to the day when I could get back to what I love. It was one of those ones that happens quite instantly and thats kind of rare for me these days," Jamie said on Interludes.

"It happened within almost a day. I spent the last almost year trying to mix it to make it good enough to play at festivals. It’s like a rollercoaster. I’m trying to work on lots of new music right now and my mood changes about 20 times a day. But when you get that moment where everything clicks, it's the absolute best."
